Emory Autism Advocacy Organization (AAO) is a student organization with branches on the Atlanta and Oxford campuses, dedicated to fostering community around the authentic autistic experience, self-advocacy, and neurodiversity in higher education

FAQs

  • AAO strives to provide a safe space for neurodivergent students at Emory. If you are a friend or ally, we would love to have you as long as you are willing to accomodate for our needs and provide space to highlight autistic voices!

  • We do not do volunteer work, such as mentoring kids or adults on the spectrum or fundraising. However, we do lots of advocacy work for the needs of neurodivergent and disabled students at Emory.

  • AAO is a student organization chartered under the council for Community and Belonging of the Student Government Association for the Emory College of Arts & Sciences. The faculty mentor for the club is Dr. Matthew Segall, who works at the Emory Autism Center. The club has a supportive and collaborative relationship but is not officially affiliated with the Autism Center,.
